The Carlie Brucia Rescue Fund

The Carlie Brucia Rescue Fund was established by Carlie's dad, Joe Brucia, following her tragic murder in February 2004 in Sarasota Florida. The purpose of the fund is to help in some small way, ease some of the burden for the unfortunate families going through tragic times.

Joe's motivation came from Carlie, "she was such a caring and giving child. I had people calling from around the country, asking to donate after my return to NY. I discussed it with friends and family and decided to start a fund in Carlie's memory. I am sure she is pleased to give any help to families going through tragic events."

Some of the money collected has gone to the following:

  • Thomas I. Conery Outreach Inc.: For a child abducted and raped in NY
  • The Central Church Of Christ: As a donation in Carlie's memory
  • American Red Cross: To help the families devastated by Hurricane Charlie
  • Brittney Gregory Scholarship Fund: A donation in Brittney's memory as per her family. Brittney was abducted, raped, and murdered in NJ
The Carlie Brucia Rescue Fund is a registered 501 (c)3 tax exempt public charity recognized by the IRS. The Fund is administered by Joe directly and all decisions on distributions are made by him. Joe works with local Churches and other non-profit organizations to deliver help to victim's families. No direct distributions are made to families or individuals.
